What should I expect when I arrive?

Checking out a new church can be a little intimidating. You don't know what to expect or where to go. Hopefully the info below will take away a little of that uncertainty.

Parking isn't usually a problem at UBC with the exception of the 11:00 am worship service during parts of the year. You'll probably want to come a few minutes early just in case. In our lobby you'll see the worship center straight ahead with some friendly greeters handing out bulletins containing upcoming events, announcements, and a place to take notes during the sermon if you would like.

What about my kids? Nursery check in_resize

We love kids at UBC! Obviously, you are welcome to keep them with you during the service. If you prefer, we offer a loving nursery with back-ground checked volunteers during each service for kids ages infant through 4 years old. You'll find the nursery down the hallway to the right off the lobby. A nursery worker will be waiting to greet you, take your child's information, direct you to the right room, and give you a pager in case they need to reach you during the service.

In addition, we offer a junior church program for kids age 4 through 2nd grade during the 11:00 am worship service.

What is the worship service like?

Worship_rear view_center_resizeEach worship service is a mix of worshiping God through music, Biblical teaching, and prayer. Our music reflects the multi-generational make up of UBC. Combining a mix of modern songs with traditional hymns, we focus on significant words that magnify God and the gospel. The worship is the same for both the 8:30 and 11:00 am services out of a desire to mix all ages of people instead of separating them out.

Because we believe the Bible is the inspired, Preaching_mario Bible_resizeauthoritative Word of God, we take it seriously. A teaching series usually works through different books of the Bible so we can gain an overall perspective on each passage in its context. The preaching usually lasts around 35-40 minutes as the pastor seeks to interpret, explain, and apply the Bible to life. Feel free to check out some past sermons to get an idea of where we are coming from.

A sign language interpreter is provided during the 11:00 am service.

Where can I get more information?

Our website is a great place to start. You can find our more about our history, staff, location, activities, ministries, and beliefs. We also offer a one hour seminar called "Discovering UBC" that covers many common questions. It's usually held once each quarter in the Adult Education room (down the hallway to the left of the lobby) during the Sunday school hour.
